कोई पूछे मेरे दिल से महोबत्त क्या है
हम कहेंगे एक यादों से भरी आग का दरिया है
koee poochhe mere dil se mahobatt kya hai
ham kahenge ek yaadon se bharee aag ka dariya hai
Let someone ask what is dearest to my heart.
We will say that it is a river of fire full of memories.

ये दर्द अब दिल का सकूं बन गया
दर्द ही दिल का नशा बन गया
किसनेकहा की दर्द बेचेन करता है
दर्द ही अब दवा का काम करता है
ye dard ab dil ka sakoon ban gaya
dard hee dil ka nasha ban gaya
kisanekaha kee dard bechen karata hai
dard hee ab dava ka kaam karata hai
This pain has now become a pain in the heart
Pain has become an addiction to the heart
Who said that pain makes you restless
Now pain works as medicine

रंजों गम रहने दो इनकी बात न करो
हमने देखा है सिसकते दिलों को
कुछ प्यार में जख्म एतबार से रुसवा
इस महोबत्त मे तन्हा और सब परेशा

kuchh pyaar mein jakhm etabaar se rusava

Let the sorrows remain, don’t talk about them.

मूददतों बाद क्यूँ तेरा जिक्र आया
dil kee mahafil me kyoo tera jikr aaya
moodadaton baad kyoon tera jikr aaya
Why was you mentioned in Dil ki Mehfil?
Why did you get mentioned after such a long time?

सब ए हिज्र भी है गम ए तनहाई भी
याद दिल की तबाही भी है तेरी वेवफ़ाई भी
sab e hijr bhee hai gam e tanahaee bhee
yaad dil kee tabaahee bhee hai teree vevafaee bhee
Everything is Hijr, there is sorrow and loneliness too.
Remember, the devastation of the heart is also your loyalty.

तुझसे रूबरू होने की कोई खवाइश नहीं
तुझसे महज महोंबत्त है और कुछ भी नहीं
